Your audio belongs to you
You and the relevant rights holders keep all copyright in uploaded recordings and processed results. We use files to provide the processing service and for the limited technical checks explained here. We do not sell customer audio, publish it, use it in advertising or train models on it.
Information used by the service
We temporarily handle your WAV, its filename, format, duration and processing result. We record order references, charge and refund amounts, status and timestamps so that we can provide the service and resolve problems. Revolut handles checkout; the portal does not receive full payment-card details.
The operational dashboard records IP addresses, approximate countries, page openings, browser-session counts, job states, timings and errors. Country estimates are derived locally using DB-IP data; customer IP addresses are not sent to a geolocation API. VPNs, shared networks and database gaps can make location estimates inaccurate. We do not request device GPS location.
Before checkout or promotion redemption, automated safeguards examine the WAV format and limited audio fingerprints and signal characteristics to identify known NAM training audio, synthetic probe signals and repeated high-volume use. Security records contain a pseudonymous hash of the connection address, the time, duration, promotion status and a general acceptance or rejection reason; they do not contain another copy of the audio.
Audio monitoring and other purposes
Authorised AUbit personnel may privately monitor input and processed audio for system operation, fault diagnosis and quality assessment, including A/B comparison of the original and processed result. Monitoring is limited to those purposes and access is logged. The dashboard streams short audio buffers from the temporary service files rather than creating a separate monitoring archive. It does not give access to original inputs deleted before A/B caching was introduced.
We use operational information to keep processing reliable, protect the service from misuse, investigate issues and plan capacity. Aggregate usage and performance figures may also help us understand demand and market the service. We do not use IPs to build advertising profiles or give advertisers access to recordings.
Basis for using information
We use the information needed to fulfil your order on the basis of performing our contract with you. Necessary financial records are also kept to meet applicable legal obligations. For proportionate security, reliability and technical quality checks, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating and improving a dependable audio service, balanced against customer privacy. We do not rely on reading this notice as consent.
Your right to object: you may object to processing based on legitimate interests, including listening checks. Contact us using the details above. If a file must be excluded from listening, contact us before uploading so we can arrange this. We will consider your request in accordance with your rights; your normal processing purchase does not transfer copyright.
How long information is kept
| Information | Normal retention |
|---|---|
| Successful input WAV | Available to the private technical dashboard with the processed result for up to 24 hours after completion, then removed during scheduled cleanup. |
| Processed WAV | Available for 24 hours after completion, then removed during scheduled cleanup. |
| Interrupted or failed audio | Removed during cleanup, normally within 24 hours. Files tied to unresolved payment or refund issues may remain while the issue is resolved. |
| IP and country records | Seven days after the last recorded visit. |
| Detailed rendering and listening access records | Thirty days. Customer filenames and session links in closed jobs are removed after 30 days. |
| Upload-security records | Thirty days. These contain a pseudonymous connection-address hash and check result, not the uploaded audio. |
| Minimal successful-payment and refund references | Kept while required for accounting, tax and disputes, normally six years after the relevant financial year ends, with longer retention where legally necessary. These records do not include the audio. |
Provider security logs, correspondence and any separately retained evidence of a dispute follow the relevant provider or business retention requirements. We review any exceptional retention for necessity. Backup and snapshot retention must be managed consistently with this notice.
Access and service providers
The private dashboard is password protected. Only authorised personnel may access monitoring information for the stated purposes. Customer downloads remain tied to their browser session. We use Fasthosts for the VPS and Revolut for payment services. They may process information needed to operate their services or meet their own obligations.
Hosting location: UK. The primary VPS is hosted in the United Kingdom. Revolut's payment processing and international transfers are described in its privacy notice. Contact us for information about applicable providers and safeguards.
Cookies
The mastering_session cookie lasts up to seven days and keeps your upload and download associated with your browser. The administrator login uses a separate secure cookie lasting one hour. These support service access and security. The portal does not add advertising cookies or third-party analytics scripts. Revolut may use its own cookies at checkout.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your personal information, and object as explained above. Contact us with enough information to identify the relevant session or order; please do not send payment-card details. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, or your relevant data-protection authority.
Audio and transaction information are necessary to provide the processing service. Without the required file and checkout information, we cannot fulfil a paid order. Automated format checks and payment checks control service eligibility; we do not use the dashboard to make unrelated decisions about customers.
This notice applies to new activity after publication. Material changes will be reflected here and brought to customers' attention where required. See the terms of service for processing, copyright and playback information.
